34H Farm with Monastery Oporto

MONASTERY FARM is a walled property of 340,000 m2 (34Ha), covering areas of culture, forest, housing and various buildings that support agricultural and forestry activities. The property develops on an almost flat surface, with a small elevation to the south, covering the various paths of the property. The buildings include the manor house (made up of several two-story structures), other villas, warehouses and equestrian facilities. The property has several wells and water mines, water tanks and partially covered water lines. The first phase of construction of the manor house dates from the 11th century (Roman granite style), and at that time, it was integrated with the “Pedroso Monastery”, which once housed the "frei" Peter Juliani, an important doctor from the 13th century, known as Pedro de Espanha, who later became the only Portuguese pope, João XXI. Both the property and the adjacent Monastery are classified as a "Monument of Public Interest".
