Venta € 4.500.000
With about 37 hectares, Farm with Monastery is composed of a set of buildings of a different nature and a vast area of forest and irrigated area. Deployed along the south bank of the Mondego River, Quinta combines the advantages of a bucolic environment with the proximity of the city of Coimbra, which is about 5 km away, benefiting from the excellent accessibility networks that the city has (two hours away) Lisbon and one from Porto; three hours from Salamanca). To the wealth of the heritage of the city of Coimbra, recognized in the elevation from the University to a World Heritage Site, the proximity of places of undeniable landscape and historical interest, such as the Serra do Buçaco (convent, forest and palace), Lousã (schist villages), Montemoro-Velho (Castle and rice fields of Mondego) and the Roman ruins of Conímbriga and Rabaçal.

Even though the foundation of the  Monastary is shrouded in some mystery, legends of miracles date it back to the early 11th century, there is no doubt now that, by mid 12th century, it was already being used and inhabited by the St. Augustine canon regular monks. Except for the period between the 16th and 18th centuries, in which it was managed by the Jesuits, the monastery was to remain under the Augustinians until 1834, year in which the extinction of religious orders dictated that the estate, both farm lands and monastery, should pass down to private rule. This inaugurated a slow and gradual path of decay and negligence that eventually led to a state of almost complete ruin of the building. In 1999 the society  Mosteiro  buys the estate, and starts a deep and complex recuperation campaign, in order to match the needs of the University School Vasco da Gama, which has operated there until the end of 2013.
